Kumpfort Zone was founded in 1998 by Rick Kumpf as a small warehouse/distribution centre. Currently we have access to over 400,000 square feet in the Kitchener/Waterloo region, along with a sister company warehouse in Burnaby, BC.

 

We are a family run business where common values are shared which gives us an extra sense of purpose and pride, and this has a direct impact on how we handle our clients and their business. The term 3PL is one that has been used quite generously over the years and it is important you have a clear understanding of who you are working with. All logistics providers have their strengths, weaknesses, and origins. Rick Kumpf's original experience in logistics was developed in the trucking industry, not an uncommon background for a 3PL provider. In 1997 Kumpfortzone Warehousing was established to deal with growing issues of dock space for small and medium size companies and we have since branched out into additional service offerings by partnering with other companies (especially in the case of trucking and rail). Using a mixed approach we make sure our clients have only one phone call to make to acquire access to all of their logistics needs from transportation to short and long term storage, pick & pack and even making sure products reach their final destination.

Rich Kumpf proudly continues the Kumpf tradition working closely with his father Rick at making Kumpfortzone the best choice now and in the future. Rich is extremely family oriented and serves his community actively as a coach with minor hockey. Rich gave 11 years of service to his country in the military where he had oportunities to put his family business experience to work in various logistical capacities. After leaving the military Rich joined the family business where he has been setting a standard of excellence for over 10 years.

Rick Kumpf was born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario. Since the young age of 14 Rick has been working in the transportation and logistics business, a family tradition starting with his father and continued through his son Rich Kumpf. Having run a trucking company since the age of 19 Rick proudly brings 43 years of experience and insight to bear at Kumpfortzone. Rick has a strong sense of community and under his leadership Kumpfortzone is happy to be involved with various charities and organizations including big brother/big sister, local sports teams and local hospitals. When Rick isn't helming Kumpfortzone he can be found busy snowmobiling, skiing, camping or cruising on his motorcycle.
